Biz banter
I got my Texas Sales Tax and Use permit in the mail yesterday. It was an exciting day.
When the book comes out this summer I'll get in huge trouble if I sell any copies without collecting sales tax, so I figured I'd jump through the necessary hoops rather than risk punishment. The government scares me.
A few months ago Angela and I were having dinner with friends and one of them suggested we offer other fun things besides just the books, so we're working with a jewelry designer who is helping us make funky sporty sassy cool necklaces. She sent me the digital renderings yesterday and they rock. We might do dog tags and t-shirts too. All of this will hopefully come together this summer around the time the first book comes out. July or August.
This eats up most of my spare time. I did have time to hit Walmart, Petco, Ulta, Old Navy, the bank, the Container Store, the haircut store, and Albertsons on the way home today though. I set a world speed record in the Container Store. The cashier was in shock. All I needed was a mesh laundry bag because Sophie chewed a hole in our current one, and those were right by the entrance so I grabbed one, hit the checkout, and I was outta there in under two minutes. Disgustingly efficient.
Back to the biz...
